Kyiv mentioned Friday its forces had recaptured a village within the japanese Donetsk area and territory round one other war-scarred city there, as Moscow-proxies held votes on annexation by Russia.

“The Ukrainian military has retaken the village of Yatskivka in Donetsk area,” Oleksiy Gromov, a senior military official, informed reporters.

Kyiv’s forces had “regained management over positions to the south of Bakhmut”, Gromov added.
