NUSA DUA, Indonesia (Reuters) – Canadian Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland on Friday informed Russian officers at a gathering of G20 finance officers that she held them personally accountable for “war crimes” dedicated throughout Russia’s battle in Ukraine, a Western official informed Reuters.
Freeland straight addressed the Russian delegation participating within the assembly of the Group of 20 main economies, telling them: “It is not only generals who commit war crimes, it is the economic technocrats who allow the war to happen and to continue,” the official stated.
Freeland, whose maternal grandparents have been born in Ukraine, informed the opening G20 session that the battle was the “single biggest threat to the global economy right now,” the official stated.
