Senators Suggest Letting Individuals Purchase Extra Treasury I Bonds

Two U.S. senators have proposed to increase cap on annual purchases of popular Treasury series I savings bonds, or I bonds, to $30,000 per person from $15,000.

Sens. Deb Fischer (R., Neb.) and Mark Warner (D., Va.) introduced a bill called the Savings Security Act that would lift the annual purchase limit when consumer price index rises at more than a 3.5% annual rate
